Scholarships for Mathematics students

School of Mathematics Masters Scholarship

The School of Mathematics is offering a number of 50% tuition fee scholarships for applicants applying to study a Masters programme in Mathematics. These will be based on academic merit and available to applicants domiciled in the eligible countries. 

British Council GREAT Scholarships

This scholarship programme offers financial support to applicants from Malaysia pursuing one year postgraduate study in the School of Mathematics. The scholarship has a value of £10,000 which will be deducted from tuition fees and will be tenable for one academic year.

Richard Davidson Scholarship (Operational Research MSc programmes only)

Thanks to an endowment from Richard Davidson, the School of Mathematics is able to offer a single annual scholarship of £1,500. This will be awarded on merit to the most outstanding student entering postgraduate studies in Operational Research. To be eligible for this scholarship you must be a UK or EU national. The scholarship can be held in addition to other funding. For 2024 entry, completed application forms must be submitted to the OR MSc Academic Selector no later than 30 August 2024.

University of Edinburgh Alumni Scholarships

Our postgraduate taught programmes are included in the University’s alumni scholarships schemes.  The University offers a 10% discount on postgraduate tuition fees to all alumni who have graduated with an undergraduate degree from the University of Edinburgh (conditions apply); or to students who have previously matriculated on a  one of our Visiting Programmes schemes as a non-graduating undergraduate student and completed a minimum of one semester of study at the University of Edinburgh (conditions apply).
