Postgraduate degrees at EPCC

EPCC has been at the forefront of parallel and novel computing in the UK for three decades and has been a leading name in HPC training for the majority of that. EPCC's MSc programmes maintain strong links to industry and our alumni have a successful track record of working in a wide range of sectors from academic and industrial  HPC (10 current members of EPCC staff are MSc alumni and many more alumni have worked at EPCC before moving on to a wide range of roles in the sector), to Financial Services, Game Development, Software Development, Academic Research.

Degree structure

The detailed content for a degree programmes is known as Degree Programme Tables (DPT).

The DPTs give you an in-depth insight into the compulsory courses and optional courses available on your degree programme.  DPTs are updated each year, so details may change for future years of your programme.

DPTs also have detailed information about each course that includes:

  • the syllabus
  • methods of assessment
  • modes of feedback
  • learning outcomes

Both High Performance Computing (HPC) and HPC with Data Science share the same core sets of compulsory courses. The programmes' main differences emerge in the optional courses open to both. The focus of both programmes is very much on the HPC side. Course information from the current academic year is linked below for reference, but some details of courses may change year-on-year.
