British Council GREAT Scholarships

This scholarship programme offers financial support to applicants from Spain and Thailand pursuing one year postgraduate study in the School of GeoSciences. The scholarship has a value of £10,000 which will be deducted from tuition fees and will be tenable for one academic year.

DataLab/School of Geosciences GIS Scholarhip

The School of Geosciences, with support from the Data Lab Academy and the Scottish Funding Council are offering one fully funded scholarship for the MSc in Geographical Information Science for the 2025-26 academic session.

The Energy Transition Centre for Masters’ Training (CMT) Bursary 2025

The Energy Transition Centre for Masters’ Training (CMT) will be awarding 6 CMT Bursaries, each valued at £6000 per annum, for students who will be enrolled in an energy geoscience-related MSc course for the forthcoming academic year 2025/26.

Applicants for MSc GeoEnergy are encouraged to apply.

The NFU Mutual Charitable Trust Centenary Award 2025

The NFU Mutual Charitable Trust is running the scheme to help create a long-standing legacy for the future. The award aims to champion research and innovation for UK agriculture, whilst also supporting promising individuals who are passionate about making a difference to the industry. The Centenary Award aims to give a number of selected postgraduate students in agriculture financial assistance for their studies.

Applicants for MSc Food Security are encouraged to apply.

University of Edinburgh Alumni Scholarships

Some of our postgraduate taught programmes are included in the University’s alumni scholarships schemes. The University offers a 10% discount on postgraduate tuition fees to all alumni who have graduated with an undergraduate degree from the University of Edinburgh (conditions apply); or to students who have previously matriculated on a one of our Visiting Programmes schemes as a non-graduating undergraduate student and completed a minimum of one semester of study at the University of Edinburgh (conditions apply).
