Information for applicants and offer holders to postgraduate taught programmes in the School of Informatics

Welcome from Professor Helen Hastie, Head of School of Informatics

We're delighted you have applied to study with us here in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh!

By joining us you will become part of the largest Informatics department in the UK and one of the largest in Europe, currently ranked 20th in the world for Computer Science in the QS World University Rankings 2024 and 4th in the UK.

In the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF) results (2021), Times Higher Education (THE) named us the UK's top Computer Science and Informatics department in terms of quality and breadth of our research.

Our courses range from theoretical to strongly application oriented that enable each student to tailor their learning experience to their own interests, creating the unique opportunity for an individual to be in control of their own learning.

We look forward to meeting you online, either at a virtual session or in our Discord group for Informatics offer holders, and we hope to welcome you as a student here with us in September.
