Institute for Academic Development (IAD) 

The IAD provide University level support for teaching, learning and researcher development. This includes a mixture of direct support for students and staff such as workshops, online resources, networks and advice, delivered in partnership with Schools and other University Services.

EI is the University of Edinburgh’s commercialisation service. They support businesses to bring ideas to life and make a positive contribution to society and the economy by connecting the organisation’s needs to world-leading research, expertise and facilities.  

In the School of Engineering, we have a strong track record of producing more than 50 technology spin-outs and developing industry links that enable our graduates to build career-long relationships.
