Research

We are committed to tackling major societal and global challenges through focussed cross-disciplinary research in three priority thematic areas: Health and Life; Climate and Sustainability; and AI and Data Science.

We also continue to advance cutting-edge discovery research across all areas of science and engineering, strengthening our reputation as a world-leading hub of insight, invention, and research-led education.

All of the Schools in the College undertake their own research in areas specific to their interests and strengths.

The seven Schools in the College are large academic groupings that offer many opportunities for collaboration between their disciplines.

We are heavily involved in strategic partnerships and research pooling supported by the Scottish Funding Council.

The College is committed to ensuring that research ethics, integrity and governance are firmly embedded in our ethos and culture.

We are the only UK institution in the Top 5 in all REF Panel B Units of Assessment by Research Power.
